Artist Statement

John King lives and works on the banks of the Saint Vrain River in Lyons, Colorado. He finds vision in the moving air and water flowing down the mountain canyons to the great plains. He shapes material to interact with the touch of the wind, the water, or the viewer.

John makes large, brightly colored kinetic sculptures for public display at Hospitals, Museums, Schools, Parks and Main Streets. The moving sculptures come alive and play and dance. His work is often whimsical, always hopeful, and is appreciated by children and those with no formal art training.
